Midwest Cardiovascular Center

The Midwest Cardiovascular Center (MCC) began clinical operations on December 23, 1999. The facility is designed to accommodate those patients requiring a diagnostic cardiovascular catherization ad who are also appropriate for the outpatient setting. MCC is the first facility of it's kind in Missouri, providing a safe, pleasant environment specifically for patients, family members, and physicians.

Patients are referred and followed by their attending cardiologist. MCC will credential only those cardiologists who meet strict guidelines and who are credentialed to perform catherizations at area hospitals. MCC will bill and collect the technical component for procedures performed, unless otherwise specified by the responsible party.

MCC will provide substantial value added services to patients and family members:
"One-stop shop". Admission, recovery, testing, billing in one office.
Private Rooms. Pleasant, comfortable, and safe environment.
Lower cost. MCC single service focus reduces costs to patients and insurers.
Focus on family and patient education. High staffing ratios allow time for focused in -depth cardiovascular and lifestyle educational activities with patients and family.
Free lodging and transportation. When needed, the facility will pay to transport and/or lodge the patient for one night.
Hospitality trained staff. We focus on what the patient "wants" from a healthcare experience, not just what they need.
State of the art technology. New equipment, safety and emergency systems. ACC clinical database and outcome management programs. Telemetry monitoring. Redundant resuscitative equipment in house.
Highly trained and certified staff. All personnel are BLS, clinical personnel are ACLS certified. All staff are "leveled" by job position and must meet minimum competency standards.
Physician always available. One of the unique features of this freestanding outpatient lab is the immediate availability of a physician. Because the catherization lab is adjacent to the MHG offices, there will be immediate access to a physician at all times.
Facility designed to accommodate family as well as patient. It is our contention that the more actively involved a patient, and more importantly the patient's family, is in the course of care, the more likely that course of care is to be successful.
